The theme of the conference is “One Nation – One Agriculture – One Team.”

Addressing the inaugural session, the Union Minister said there would be no shortage of food grains, fruits, and vegetables in the country, and expressed his resolve to make India the “food basket of the world.” He noted that agriculture in India is growing at 3.7 percent, the highest in the world, due to the efforts of farmers, scientists, and supportive policies.

Chouhan underlined the need for joint action by the Centre and States, strict measures against spurious fertilisers and seeds, and greater focus on effective agricultural extension. He urged wider coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, and announced that the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan will be carried out again in October.

The conference is being attended by senior officials, ICAR scientists, state representatives, farmer organisations, and experts. Union Agriculture Secretary Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi and ICAR Director General Dr. M.L. Jat also addressed the inaugural session.
