DC Doda reviews essential services and road connectivity in Doda-Thathri

Doda: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, today visited the Doda market to take stock of the availability of essential supplies following the relaxation of two hours for people to procure their necessities.

He interacted with members of the Market Association and the general public, assuring them that all their issues and requirements would be addressed with priority.

The Deputy Commissioner also visited Kandhote in the Thathri Subdivision to assess the damage caused to NH-244 and the power infrastructure due to massive landslides in the area. Col. (Retd) Ajay Thakur, GM NHIDCL, briefed him about the ongoing restoration works and assured that the affected stretch would be made roadworthy to ensure the smooth passage of essential supplies.

Singh further reviewed the supply chain mechanism and stressed the importance of uninterrupted transit of essential commodities to Kishtwar District and the subdivisions of Thathri and Gandoh.

The visit was aimed at restoring road connectivity and power supply, maintaining the availability of daily necessities, and ensuring the smooth movement of people during the prevailing situation.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, Anil Thakur, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Thathri, Sheetal Sharma.
