Two-day national seminar on breast cancer concludes at GDC Kulgam

Kulgam: The two-day national seminar on “Breast Cancer: Cause of Concern in Kashmir,” organized by Government Degree College (GDC) Kulgam in collaboration with Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla, concluded today with technical sessions and a valedictory function.

Experts highlighted important aspects of breast cancer, including awareness, prevention, and treatment. Key speakers included Prof. Fayaz Ahmad Malik, Dr. Mir Mohammad Hussain, Dr. Punkaj Kumar, Dr. Zubair Ahmad, Dr. Albeena Nisar, Dr. Nadiya Muzaffar, and Shahnawaz Ahmad Khanday. Students also presented posters on the theme, which were evaluated by the experts.

The valedictory session was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Nighat Jabeen, Principal GMC Anantnag, as the chief guest, along with Dr. Azim Manzoor Bhat. Principal GDC Kulgam, Prof. (Dr.) Mohd Abass Shah delivered the concluding remarks. A welcome address was presented by Dr. Gowhar Hamid Dar, the conference report was read by Subzar Ahmad Reshi, and the vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Aabid Hussain Malik. The proceedings were conducted by Dr. Bilal Ahmad Shah.

The seminar concluded with a collective resolve to spread awareness about breast cancer and encourage preventive healthcare in society.
