Finalizes upcoming progs under Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq

Srinagar: The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief, Tariq Hameed Karra, on Monday reiterated the Congress Party’s commitment to restore statehood, dignity, and honour to Jammu and Kashmir, besides ensuring justice for its people who, he said, have been pushed into darkness in every respect by the BJP-led government at the Centre.

He made these remarks while presiding over a meeting of Coordinators and District Presidents of the Kashmir province at the Srinagar Party Office. Senior Congress leaders, legislators, and former legislators were present and briefed Karra about organizational activities and the current political situation in their respective districts.

The meeting finalized upcoming programmes across the Kashmir region under the movement Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq for the restoration of complete statehood to J&K. The programmes will be extended to block and village levels across the Union Territory. The meeting also held threadbare discussions on other organizational activities and resolved to initiate further public outreach programmes in every nook and corner of J&K.

On the occasion, Tariq Hameed Karra reiterated that the Congress Party firmly supports the restoration of complete statehood to J&K. He said the BJP government at the Centre, which he accused of creating chaos and confusion in J&K, cannot and will not silence Congress. The Party, he stressed, remains strong in its resolve to bring back statehood, which was snatched away by the BJP government in an attempt to punish and disempower the people of J&K.

Karra added that under the leadership of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, the Party will continue to fight for the empowerment of the people of J&K and will not rest until complete statehood is restored.
