Committee to probe reasons behind Vaishno Devi cloudburst incident

Srinagar: The Lieutenant Governor orders constitution of a high-level three-member committee headed by ACS Jal Shakti Mr Shaleen Kabra to enquire into the reasons behind the tragic land-slide incident near Ardhkuwari on Shri Mata Vaishno Devi track on 26th August. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and IGP, Jammu are the two other members of the committee.
The Committee shall :

1. Examine in detail the causes/reasons behind the incident and point out any lapses.
2. Assess responses in the form to rescue and relief measures undertaken.
3. Suggest appropriate SoPs and measures for preventing recurrence of such incidents in future.
