He was accompanied by Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice-Chancellor, Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST).

The proposed centre will incubate and develop one of the 75 Students’ Satellites from India at IUST. The development of the “Kashmir Satellite”, to be launched by ISRO, will serve as a landmark achievement, promoting research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in space technology among the youth of J&K. This mission is part of the nationwide initiative under the 75 Students’ Satellites Program, coordinated by University Space Engineering Consortium-India, which works to provide hands-on space engineering education and capacity-building opportunities for students.

The initiative is expected to open pathways for advanced research, skill development, and industry linkages in satellite and space technologies for J&K’s students, reinforcing India’s mission to build self-reliance in strategic sectors.

Meanwhile, a joint delegation of Jammu & Kashmir Dairy Farmers Association and faculty members of SKUAST Kashmir, headed by Sandeep Singh Chib, called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and briefed him on the upcoming Pashu Dhan Mela.
