Srinagar: Police in Baramulla have arrested two persons who were allegedly involved in theft at a Masjid.
A police spokesperson informed that on August 15, Police Station Kunzer received a complaint from Lambardar of Pandithpora Payeen Kunzer, stating that during the preceding night unknown persons had stolen the copper steamer from a Masjid Shareef in Pandithpora.
After registering a case, during investigation, police detained two West Bengal residents — Mohammad Eya Kalimim alias Ramzan, son of Mohammad Neshu Sheikh of Niyabasti, Kalia Chak, and Mohammad Haneef Sheikh, son of Mohammad Rayeesu Sheikh. The stolen steamer, valued at approximately ₹1.5 lakh, was recovered on their revelation, police said, adding that further investigation is going on and efforts are underway to apprehend other individuals involved in theft.
