79th Independence Day Celebrations held at GC CRPF Humhama

Srinagar: The Group Centre CRPF Humhama celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour and mass participation.

The celebrations were marked by a series of events that honoured bravery, encouraged citizen participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and strengthened the spirit of unity.

This year, 21 bravehearts of the CRPF were honoured with 23 gallantry medals, including 3 prestigious Shaurya Chakras. These awards stand as a shining testament to their valour, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the motherland.

At GC CRPF Humhama, the national flag was hoisted by Shri Vivek Bhandral, DIG, in the presence of officers, personnel, and their families. The tricolour was also proudly unfurled at the campus school, where children presented a vibrant cultural programme showcasing India’s rich heritage and the spirit of freedom.

In line with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, jawans, their families were encouraged to register on the official portal and share selfies with the national flag. Tiranga flags were distributed to CRPF personnel, their families, ensuring widespread participation and a sea of tricolours across the region.

The celebrations also included outreach activities in schools, where children participated in patriotic songs, dances and speeches. The event fostered a strong connection between the force and the community, reinforcing the shared pride of being part of the world’s largest democracy.

The day concluded with a renewed commitment by all ranks of CRPF to uphold the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation, inspired by the sacrifices of those who have laid down their lives in the service of India.
