Restoration of complete Statehood our right, not a favor: Karra

Srinagar: The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hammed Karra on Sunday led an impressive public outreach programme in connection with Party’s movement “Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq” in Shalteng area of Srinagar district and addressed a largely attended public meeting while highlighting the party’s tireless efforts to restore dignity and honour of people of J&K, which are under assault under the BJP rule at Centre.

Speaking on the occasion, JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra laid emphasis on further intensifying the movement under the banner Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq, besides conducting public outreach programmes across J&K in all the districts and appealed to the people to fully join the Congress Party’s struggle for the restoration of complete statehood.

Statehood is our right, not a favour. Our jobs, land, natural resources, and cultural identity are our rights, which cannot be compromised in any case. We will do everything to protect these, for that matter, the entire Congress party under the leadership of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and LOP Rahul Gandhi are committed to ensuring restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, dignity and honour of people. It is the Congress Party alone which stands guarantee to the protection of public rights, he said.

Congress has launched a tireless campaign under the banner Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq, it will not stop till the Centre honors its commitment at the sametime, JKPCC President congratulated people for their overwhelming response to Party’ movement and extended appeal to every section of people across J&K to fully join upcoming public outreach programme in the districts for protection of their rights, JKPCC President said.

Congress won’t be cowed down by the challenges and the malicious propaganda unleashed by BJP and its proxies aiming to divert attention of the people from the Statehood campaign, we (Congress) and the people of J&K will defeat such nefarious designs, Karra added.

Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq has become a household name, it will not stop till the Centre restores the complete statehood, Congress Party will be observing hunger strike from 9 August, all District Congress Committee leaders and workers will reach Srinagar to join as per the scheduled finalized, similarly the hunger strike will be observed in Jammu District wise at Centre place, as scheduled, Karra elaborated.

Senior Congress Leader Nissar Ahmad Mundoo,Dr. Waleed Karra, Yasir Nissar and others also spoke on the occasion.
