Srinagar: The Jammu & Kashmir Civil Engineering Graduates Association (JKCEGA) has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government for issuing long-awaited placement orders for engineers at the levels of Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineer in the Public Works (R&B) and Mechanical Engineering departments.
In a statement issued on Thursday, JKCEGA thanked Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Public Works (R&B) and Mechanical Engineering Shri Surinder Kumar Choudhary, and Principal Secretary, PWD (R&B) and Mechanical Mr. Anil Kumar Singh (IAS), for addressing the prolonged issue of pending promotions that had created operational gaps within the department.
The association noted that the move will bring much-needed continuity in the planning, execution, and supervision of vital infrastructure and public service projects across Jammu & Kashmir. “This timely and commendable decision will enhance departmental efficiency, reduce delays, and ensure faster project delivery on the ground,” said JKCEGA President Er Farooq Ahamed Ganie.
Reaffirming its support to the government’s developmental vision, JKCEGA emphasized its commitment to a transparent and accountable approach in implementing public infrastructure projects. The association assured full cooperation in translating the administration’s development agenda into tangible outcomes.
Meanwhile, the Civil-Mechanical Coordination Committee of JKCEGA and the Jammu & Kashmir Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA) also welcomed the move and urged the administration to expedite the filling of existing vacancies at the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) and Assistant Engineer (AE) levels across both Civil and Mechanical cadres, in accordance with the seniority lists.
JKCEGA reiterated its resolve to work in unity with the engineering fraternity to strengthen infrastructure development and governance across the Union Territory.
