SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) has announced a scheduled power shutdown in several areas of Srinagar on August 4 and 6, 2025. The outage is necessary to facilitate the stringing of conductors on the 132 KV double circuit Rawalpora–Bemina transmission line, specifically between tower locations 25X and 25Y.

The work is being carried out to increase ground clearance in light of the ongoing flyover construction at Sanat Nagar Chowk. As a result, power supply will remain affected from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM in Rawalpora, Sanat Nagar, Hyderpora, Rangreth, Wanbal, Srinagar International Airport, Air Force station, Peerbagh, STC BSF, BEACON, JAKLI, Humhama, and surrounding areas.
