Srinagar: National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday said that terrorism will never succeed and that it’s really great if the terrorists neutralized in Operation Mahadev a day earlier were indeed the ones who carried out the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.
The former chief minister’s assertions followed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s announcement during a special discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Parliament that three of the terrorists who carried out the Pahalgam massacre were killed in a joint operation with security forces in the Upper Dhara belt of the Harwan area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, Abdullah said: “I have not seen them (slain terrorists) and I don’t know who they are. Only those people can identify them who have seen them. If they have been killed, it is a good thing. They have got a lesson that terrorism will never succeed.”
Reacting to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti’s claim that only ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi can resolve the Kashmir issue if he so chooses’, Abdullah said “every issue can be resolved, including the Kashmir issue, if we stand in harmony!”
