KPDCL announces scheduled power shutdowns

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various areas to facilitate line augmentation, branch cutting, and urgent repair works.

The shutdowns, which will affect multiple 33/11KV receiving stations and adjoining localities, are planned for different dates between July 24 and July 27, 2025.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, in order to carry out augmentation works on the 33KV Budgam–Parthan line, a shutdown of the 33KV Budgam–Watrehail Tap line shall be observed. As a result, the 33/11KV Receiving Station at Watrehail will remain off, and power supply to Watrehail, Samsaan, Parthan, Watrehail PHE Substation, and adjoining areas will be affected from 06:00 AM to 01:00 PM on July 24 and July 26, 2025.

Similarly, to facilitate branch cutting of trees along the alignment of the 33KV line, a shutdown of the 33KV Alasteng Power House line will be observed. Consequently, the 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Zirpora Power House, Manigam, Duderhama, and Contingency Plant shall remain off. Power supply to Beehama, Arampora, Arch, Nunner, Manigam, Duderhama, Malshaibagh, Wayil, Gutlibagh, and adjoining areas will be affected from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM on July 27, 2025.

In connection with the same works, a shutdown of the 33KV Alasteng–Nagbal line shall also be observed. The 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Alasteng, Nagbal, Gadoora, and Tulbagh will remain off, affecting power supply to Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Nagbal, Fatehpora, Gadoora, Tulbagh, Chunduna, Shairpathri, and nearby areas from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM on July 26, 2025.

Additionally, to facilitate branch cutting along the alignment of the 33KV line, a shutdown of the 33KV Alasteng–Zakura line shall be undertaken. As a result, the 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Gulab Bagh, Ahmad Nagar, and Umarhair will remain off, and power supply to Pandach, Pathan Colony, Gulabagh, Mir Mohalla, Umarhair, Nowbugh, Ahmad Nagar, 90-ft Road, Khalmulla, and adjoining areas will be affected from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM on July 26, 2025.

To carry out branch cutting, stabilization, and urgent repair works at various critical spots, a shutdown of the 33KV Potushai–Gurez line shall also be observed. Accordingly, the 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Dawar and Gurez will remain off, and power supply to Dawar, Wanpora, Tragbal, NHPC, and nearby areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on July 24, 2025.

Moreover, a shutdown of the 33KV Potushai–Naidhal line is scheduled, due to which the 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Nusoo, Naidhal, and Ajas shall remain off. Power supply to Nusoo, Naidhal, Ajas, Garoora, Papchan, Nishat, Argam, and adjoining areas will be affected from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM on July 26, 2025.
