Three separate FIRs have been registered at the crime branch (Economic Offences Wing) police station, said Senior Superintendent of Police Benam Tosh of Jammu crime branch.

Paul, presently posted in the fourth battalion of Indian Reserve Police, is a resident of Upper Nonial in Nowshera tehsil of Rajouri, and is accused of securing a job in the Police Department J&K Armed Police in 1995 by using fake educational qualification documents.

The departmental enquiry report and preliminary verification report prima facie revealed commission of a cognisable offence, officials said.

On the written complaint of Bachan Lal of Suchetgarh, a case against Kumar of village Khamb, R S Pura was registered for getting a job in J&K School Education Department as Rahber-e-Taleem (ReT) teacher in 2004 by using a forged permanent residence certificate (PRC), officials said.

According to a separate written complaint, teacher Ghulam Hassan Naik of Khari village in Ramban district is accused of manipulating school records to ensure the selection of his illiterate daughter Shakeela Bano as AWW, the officials added.

According to the complaint, Naik was born on December 6, 1966, and his daughter’s recorded date of birth was January 1, 1976 — father and daughter having an age difference of nine years and 26 days only.
