“I am here as part of the prime minister’s ‘Rozgar Mela’…I am witnessing more focus of the Modi government on J&K which is his top priority,” Prasada told reporters after the employment fair, organized by the Jammu division of the Northern Railway.

The minister said that he had reviewed the functioning of the industries and IT departments with focus on employment generation and providing financial incentives to boost exports.

“We are planning to separately organise buyer-seller meets to facilitate export of locally manufacturing goods, focus on the Software Technology park to boost startups and provide ample opportunities to the unemployed youth,” Prasada said.

Under the 16th employment fair, the prime minister distributed over 51,000 appointment letters at 47 locations across the country through video conferencing.

The new recruits will be joining the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Labour and Employment among other departments and ministries.

This was the first job fair of the Northern Railway’s Jammu division which was announced earlier this year.

Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, Vivek Kumar, said this job fair is an important initiative towards the prime minister’s commitment of ’employment for all’.

It aims to empower the youth and motivate them to play an active role in nation building, he added.

Kumar further said the newly appointed personnel will also be given online orientation training through “Karmayogi Prarambh” so that they can gain efficiency in government service.
