Srinagar: White Knight Corps Commander, Lieutenant General P K Mishra today conducted a comprehensive review of operational preparedness during his visit to White Knight Air Defence Brigade.

This assessment came in the wake of the brigade’s significant involvement in Operation Sindoor, a targeted strike against terrorist camps carried out by the Indian Armed Forces in May 2025.

During the visit, the GOC praised the brigade for its accurate execution and professionalism throughout the operation. He underscored the strategic importance of the brigade’s work in safeguarding India’s northern frontiers while enhancing air defence capabilities in a region known for its sensitivity and complexity.

The White Knight Corps, also referred to as XVI Corps, has its headquarters in Nagrota and has played a pivotal role in India’s counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir since its establishment in 1972.

The GOC’s visit also included an interaction session with ex-servicemen, where he expressed gratitude for their ongoing contributions to the military community. This engagement aligns with the objectives of the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare under the Ministry of Defence, which supports over 2.8 million veterans across India through various schemes touching on healthcare, pensions, and rehabilitation.
