MLA Kupwara flags off group of school children to Sonamarg for sports training

KUPWARA: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kupwara, Mir Mohammed Fayaz, today flagged off a group of enthusiastic school children from different schools of the district for a special sports training camp at Sonamarg under Bharat Scouts and Guides.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, was also present at the occasion.

The flag-off ceremony was held at the DC office complex here, during which the children, accompanied by coaches and officials from the Youth Services and Sports Kupwara, were seen off with words of encouragement and best wishes by the MLA and the DC.

Speaking on the occasion, Mir Mohammed Fayaz highlighted the importance of sports in overall personality development and the health of students. He emphasized that such exposure visits and training camps not only enhance physical skills but also foster discipline, teamwork, and leadership qualities among the youth.

The group, consisting of 36 student,s will undergo a structured training schedule at Sonamarg, focusing on multiple disciplines including athletics, skiing, football, volleyball, and kabaddi, under the guidance of professional trainers.

DPEO CEO Office Kupwara; Principals of schools and officials from Youth Services and Sports department were also present at the flag-off ceremony.
