Launching the ‘Clean Jammu, Green Jammu’ campaign, in collaboration with the Urban Forest Division, JMC commissioner Devansh Yadav said it aims to promote environmental conservation and foster a culture of green responsibility among citizens.

According to an official statement, the plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, including senior citizens, former councillors, who adopted saplings and took a pledge to care for them.

Yadav, who planted Gulmohar saplings at a vacant site along the canal bank, said a total of 60,000 saplings would be planted under the campaign before August 15.

He said each sapling will be tagged with a QR code, providing detailed information about the plant species and the adopter responsible for its care.

Highlighting the importance of post-plantation care, especially during the summer season, the JMC commissioner stressed that protecting and nurturing these saplings is crucial.
