IGNOU opens admissions for July 2025 session across 30 study Centres in Kashmir & Ladakh

Srinagar: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced the commencement of admissions for the July 2025 session, offering a wide array of academic programmes including Master’s, Four-Year Undergraduate, Diploma, and Certificate courses through its 30 Study Centres located across Kashmir and Ladakh.

Prospective students can submit their applications online via the University’s official portal: https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in or access the admissions link directly from the homepage of www.ignou.ac.in. The deadline for submission of applications is 15 July 2025.

The July 2025 cycle includes admissions to over 60 new programmes, notably Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP) in disciplines such as Commerce, Economics, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Anthropology, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Social Work, Philosophy, Biochemistry, and Facilities & Service Management. In the postgraduate domain, new offerings include M.Sc. programmes in Geography, Geo-Informatics, Applied Statistics, and Renewable Energy.

To apply, candidates must first register on the SAMARTH portal by creating a User ID and Password and ensure they have access to an active mobile number, email ID, scanned academic documents, a photograph, and online payment options. Additionally, it is mandatory to create a DEB ID prior to starting the application. The guide for DEB ID creation is available here.

Dr. A.H. Rizvi, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar, urged aspiring learners to make the most of this opportunity to join India’s premier open learning institution. “IGNOU continues to expand access to quality education across remote and underserved regions. We encourage all prospective students to apply well before the deadline,” he said.

He also issued a word of caution against fraudsters. “Students must remain vigilant and avoid sharing personal or financial information through WhatsApp, QR codes, or any unofficial communication. IGNOU accepts applications and fee payments only through its official website,” he emphasized.
