Div Com reviews arrangements for arrival of Hajj pilgrims

SRINAGAR: In preparation for the arrival of Hajj pilgrims, Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, chaired a meeting today to finalise the comprehensive arrangements for the safe and smooth arrival of pilgrims at the International Airport Srinagar.

Addressing the officers from various departments, Div Com issued a slew of directives aimed at facilitating the pilgrims and their attendants during their arrival.

He emphasized for issuing vehicle and entry passes to the attendants promptly to avoid any inconvenience during the arrival process.

Div Com directed the concerned authorities to earmark dedicated parking spaces for vehicles accompanying the pilgrims, ensuring smooth traffic flow and reducing congestion.

He instructed the Chief Medical Officer Srinagar to deploy medical teams at the airport to provide immediate assistance to any needy pilgrims.

He further directed the Hajj Committee to deploy adequate staff to assist pilgrims, ensuring they receive the necessary support throughout their arrival.

To ensure uninterrupted vehicular movement, Div Com stressed the need for proper traffic management on the Airport road during the pilgrims’ arrival.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from the District Administration of Budgam and Srinagar, Airport Authority, Police, CRPF, Hajj Committee, and Emigration.
