Srinagar: The Meteorological department on Wednesday forecast severe heatwave conditions during next three days in Jammu and Kashmir.

The weather conditions will remain generally hot and dry in Jammu and Kashmir till June 13, while severe heatwave conditions will persist at scattered places of J&K during next three days, a MeT official said.

He said there is a possibility of brief spells of light rain and thundershower at isolated to scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir, accompanied with thunder and gusty winds from June 14-17.

The official said that from June 18-20 the weather conditions will likely remain hot and dry again.

The official advised the general public to take sufficient fluids and water, and avoid outdoor activities during peak intensity (from 12 noon to 4 pm).

He also advised farmers to continue farm operations.
