DC Srinagar finalizes arrangements for celebration of Parkash Purab of Guru Hargobind Sahib

SRINAGAR: In order to review the arrangements for the celebration of Prakash Purab marking the birth anniversary of Guru Hargobind Singh Ji being celebrated on June 12, 2025, a meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex here.

During the meeting, arrangements were finalized for seamless celebrations of the Prakash Purab particularly at Gurdwara Chattipadshi Rainawari where a large number of people are expected to participate in the occasion with religious devotion.

At the outset, DC took a detailed appraisal about the arrangements to be made by different departments for smooth celebrations of the Prakash Purab in the district.

On the occasion, DC directed the officers to ensure fool proof arrangements by their respective departments to facilitate the devotees of Sikh community to celebrate religious festival with full color. He instructed for ensuring hassle-free traffic and parking arrangements and uninterrupted supply of power and water.

DC directed the SMC authorities to ensure proper sanitation measures, besides adequate measures to tackle dog menace around the Gurdwara Chatti Padshahi Rainawari.

DC also instructed concerned officers to make adequate numbers of buses available so that devotees may not face inconvenience while traveling to ChattiPadshahi.

Similarly, Officers of Health, Food Safety, Fire & Emergency and other departments were directed to ensure all requisite measures at Gurdwara Chatti Padshahi Rainawari for the devotees on the day.

Earlier, members of the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee who were present in the meeting briefed the DC about the requirements for the occasion.

They sought adequate arrangements for ensuring proper traffic and parking facilities, health facility, security management, cleanliness in and around Gurdwaras particularly Chattipadsahi Rainawari, besides making arrangements for uninterrupted power and water supplies.

Besides Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aadil Fareed, the meeting was attended by SP Security, Superintending Engineers of R&B, PHE, SDM East, SDM West, Chief Sanitation Officer, Tehsildar Khanyar, Executive Engineer PHE and other Officers.
