DC Srinagar chairs maiden DLIC meeting on Mission YUVA; 10 Youth venture projects approved

SRINAGAR: The first meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) on Mission YUVA was Tuesday held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat here at meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex to approve the proposed venture projects.

The DLIC meeting was convened to evaluate and approve venture project applications submitted through Small Business Development Units (SBDUs).

During the meeting, a total of 10 cases, verified by SBDU, were placed before the committee for consideration and all were approved for financial assistance and handholding support under the Mission YUVA initiative. The committee conducted detailed scrutiny of each application to verify eligibility, assess business viability and the socio-economic background of the applicants.

Speaking on the occasion, DC highlighted the importance of promoting self-employment among local youth, particularly those from underprivileged and marginalized sections of society.

He directed all line departments to work in a mission mode to ensure timely disbursement of financial support, continuous monitoring and proper mentoring to ensure the sustainability of the ventures. He also instructed the stakeholders to properly study and scrutinize the DPRs tailored fit to achieve the objectives under the initiatives.

DC further emphasized enhanced outreach and awareness to ensure wider participation under the scheme. He stressed the importance of Mission YUVA in fostering entrepreneurship among youth and called for pro-active coordinated efforts to achieve the mission’s objectives in a time-bound manner.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Rifat Aftab; General Manager DIC, Hamida Akhtar; Chief Planning Officer, Deputy Director Employment, SDM East, SDM West, District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, DDM NABARD, Lead District Manager and District Nodal Officer, JKEDI besides other concerned attended the meeting.
