DC appeals for public participation ahead of nationwide launch on June-15

HOPIAN: In line with the Government of India’s upcoming campaign under Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, District Administration Shopian is preparing to roll out ‘Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan’ awareness and benefit saturation camps from June 15 to June 30, 2025.

These camps will be held in two tribal-dominated villages Kathohallan (15th June to 22nd June, 2025) and Pahlipora (23th June to 30th June, 2025) in Block Keller of the district, to ensure last-mile delivery of government schemes and bridge critical socio-economic and development gaps.

Though the official launch is scheduled for June 15, 2025, across 549 tribal districts and 207 PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group) dominated districts in India, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta during a press briefing, urged the people of Shopian to actively participate in the forthcoming camps.

“These camps are aimed to fulfill the gaps in service delivery by identifying eligible beneficiaries and covering them on the spot. I appeal to the public to come forward, participate wholeheartedly, and ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left behind,” DC Said.

Gupta emphasized that the camps will serve as a single-window platform for the saturation of benefits across critical sectors, including Aadhaar services, PM-JAY / Ayushman Bharat health cards, Jan Dhan Yojana/ Bank account openings, Agriculture & allied welfare schemes, Har Ghar Nal Se Jal (drinking water supply), Electricity connections, Health services & mobilisation, Education gap reduction, Skill development and training, Food security (ration and nutrition schemes), RDD schemes, Youth Services & Sports, Forest rights and  other support initiatives.

All concerned departments have been instructed to prepare baseline data while designated officers will be present during the camps to resolve issues on the spot.

This initiative forms part of a larger national effort to honor tribal heritage and empower tribal communities, ensuring they receive the full benefits of government development and welfare schemes.

DC highlighted the importance of Janbhagidari (public participation) and called on community leaders, PRI representatives, youth and civil society organizations to assist in spreading awareness and ensuring full community engagement.
