Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Shopian and Ganderbal districts, and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that Gulzar Ahmad Thoker, son of Ghulam Ahmad Thoker, resident of Tumlihaal Pulwama, was arrested at Marhang crossing after 60 grams of cannabis were recovered from his possession.
At Beehama in Ganderbal, cannabis wrapped in corn husks and concealed in a polythene bag was recovered from the possession of one Ghulam Ahmad Parra, son of Ghulam Parra, resident of Beehama, the spokesperson said, adding that he too was arrested.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigations, police said.
