Scheduled power shutdown announced for multiple areas in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several areas of South Kashmir to facilitate essential maintenance, branch cutting, and infrastructure upgradation works.

May 31, 2025 (10:00 AM to 04:00 PM)

Kokernag Region:

Power supply will remain suspended in Kokernag, Dandipora, Sagam, Vailoo, and adjoining areas due to branch cutting and pruning under the 33 KV Lisser-Kokernag line.

The 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Kokernag and Dandipora will remain off during this period.

Achabal Region:

To facilitate similar pruning work along the 33 KV Mattan-Achabal line, power will remain off in Achabal, Shangus, Nowgam, Cherpora, Uteersoo, and surrounding areas.

The affected 33/11KV Receiving Stations include Achabal, Shangus, and Cherpora.

Wanpoh Region:

Power supply will be disrupted in Shamsipora, Jablipora, Zirpara, Veer, Srigufwara, and SICOP areas as part of the upgradation of the 33 KV Wanpoh-SICOP line from 0.1 ACSR to 0.2 ACSR.

Receiving Stations at Shamsipora, SICOP, Zirpara, Veer, and Cheeniwadder will remain non-functional during the shutdown.

June 2, 2025

(09:00 AM to 04:00 PM):

As part of preventive maintenance and stabilization work along the 33 KV Pampore-Khrew line, power supply to Khrew, Shar Shali, Wahab Sahab, Bathan, Zantrang, and nearby areas will be interrupted.

Receiving Stations affected include Shar Shali, Khrew-1st, Khrew-2nd, and 01 MVA TLMD-4th.

(11:00 AM to 01:00 PM):

To support the commissioning of a newly created 63 KVA substation for WSS Stage-1 at Sethergund Kakapora, a brief shutdown will impact areas including Kakapora, Newa, Gadoora, Parigam, Narbal, Ukhoo, Marvel, Zadoora, and Wahibugh.

Receiving Stations at Newa, Kakapora, and LIS Marvel Stage-I to IV will be shut down temporarily.

June 4, 2025 (09:00 AM to 04:00 PM)

Lethpora Region:

Power supply will be affected in Khrew, Chandhara, Samboora, Patalbagh, Lethpora, CRPF Lethpora, Dusoo, Ladhoo, Konibal, Goondbal, Gooripora, and various Lift Irrigation Schemes (LIS) due to shutdown of the 33 KV Pampore-Lethpora line.

Receiving Stations to be turned off include Lethpora, Konibal, LIS-1st, 2nd & 3rd, Khyber Milk, and BPCL.

KPDCL has advised residents of the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and has assured that all efforts will be made to restore the power supply as early as possible following completion of the scheduled works.
