Power shutdown alerts announced across multiple areas in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) have announced scheduled power shutdowns in various areas to facilitate essential maintenance, pruning, and stringing works.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL:nOn 28 May 2025, shutdown of the 33 KV GIS Tengpora Exhibition (Tapline) Allochibagh Bund Portion line will be observed for branch cutting and pruning of trees. Consequently, 33/11KV Receiving Stations at GIS Batamaloo, Court Complex Moominabad, and Tengpora will remain off. Power supply to Nundresh Colony B, Batamaloo, Moominabad, Batamaloo Adda, Court Complex, and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM.

On 29 May 2025, to carry out branch cutting along the 33 KV Nihalpora HMT line, 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Mirgund and Shadipora will remain off. Power supply to Mirgund, Rambilgarh, Shadipora, and adjoining areas will be disrupted from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM.

On 31 May 2025, for stabilization, maintenance, and branch cutting along the 33 KV Kongamdara line, shutdown will affect 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Kunzar, Dhobiwan, Kongamdara, and Ahmadpora. Power supply to Kunzar, Dhobiwan, Kongamdara, Ahmadpora, and nearby areas will remain suspended from 10:00 AM to 03:30 PM.

Meanwhile, the Chief Engineer, JKPTCL, informed that: On 28 May 2025, to carry out balance stringing works from tower locations 19 X, 39 X, and 45 X of the 132 KV D/C Amargarh-Arampora Transmission Line, shutdown will be observed, affecting power supply to Handwara, Zachaldara, Magam, Dolipora, Kralpora, Tangdhar, Keran, Machil, Lolab, Khumeriyal, Chogal, Panzgam, Karihama, Trehgam, Hyhama, Tartahpora, Vilgam, Sogam, Divar, Krusen, DC Residence/office, Drugmulla, and Phuropeth from 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM.

Consumers in the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements and bear with the inconvenience during the maintenance periods.
