Horticulture (P&M) Deptt organises awareness camp at F&VM Pachhar Pulwama

PULWAMA: Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing (P&M) today conducted a day-long awareness camp at the Fruit & Vegetable Market (F&VM) Pachhar, Pulwama.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of fruit growers and traders from the region.

The primary objective of the camp was to disseminate information regarding various government schemes in the horticulture sector, including the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises scheme (PM FME), Support for Grading and Packaging, and e-NAM schemes.

The participants were apprised about the benefits and modalities of these schemes to encourage wider adoption and to strengthen the horticulture ecosystem.

Director Horticulture (P&M), Ghulam Jeelani Zargar, presided over as the chief guest. In his address, he gave a comprehensive overview of the ongoing initiatives and support mechanisms available to horticulture stakeholders through the department.

The programme was also attended by the Deputy Director Kashmir and the Deputy Director Planning, along with other senior officers of the department and officials from the R&B Department.

The Kandi Fruit Growers & Dealers Association Pachhar presented their genuine concerns and suggestions aimed at further strengthening the marketing infrastructure and support services in the area.
