DC Kupwara inspects various JJM works coming up in Handwara sub-division

KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, today took a detailed tour of Handwara sub-division to take stock of various ongoing Water Supply Schemes (WSS) under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).

She was accompanied by Executive Engineer PHE Division Handwara, CPO Kupwara, Tehsildar Handwara and other concerned officers.

During the visit, DC inspected various water supply schemes (WSSs) coming up under Jal Jeevan Mission in different areas of Handwara sub-division, which include WSS Zagsundri, WSS Shahnagri, WSS Peer Khan Mohallah, WSS Villgam-Ramhall, WSS Moqdam Mohallah, WSS Magam-Neelipora, WSS Opezwani-Sirajpora and WSS Trich.

On the occasion, DC stressed upon the concerned engineers to gear up their men and machinery and ensure completion of all ongoing water supply schemes within the stipulated time frame so that the people get clean drinking water under the ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission.

She also appreciated the department for the completion of various schemes, which have been tested recently, including the Augmentation of WSS Neelipora-Magam and WSS Khanpora. It was informed that WSS Khanpora, completed at a cost of Rs 618.52 lakh, shall benefit the population of 6390 souls living in the area.

DC also redressed various issues and bottlenecks of some water supply schemes on the spot, and directed the concerned officers to ensure strict compliance of the timelines stipulated for completion of the JJM works.
