Scheduled power shutdowns in central and south Kashmir for maintenance works

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various areas of Central and South Kashmir to facilitate branch cutting, pruning of trees, stabilization, and preventive maintenance of 33KV lines and receiving stations.

Power shutdowns will be carried out on May 26, 27, and 28, 2025, affecting the following areas from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM:

May 26:

Rawalpora-Silk Factory line: Power supply to Silk Factory, Allochibagh, Rambagh, Tulsibagh and adjoining areas will be affected.

GIS Tengpora-Narkara line: Power supply to Narkara, Gangbugh, Gulberg Colony, Hyderpora Chowk, Westend Colony and nearby areas will be impacted.

May 27:

Rawalpora-Rangreth line: Outage in Rangreth, Wanbal, Alamdar Colony, Milatabad, Hill View Colony, Gogo, and adjoining localities.

Rawalpora-Airforce line: Areas including Peerbagh, Humhama, Humhama Heights, Friends Colony, Hyderpora to experience power cuts.

Rawalpora-Silk Factory line: Shutdown to be observed, though no load or receiving station will be affected.

May 28:

GIS Tengpora-Exhibition (Tapline): No load affected; Exhibition and Batmaloo receiving stations to be charged through an alternate line.

GIS Tengpora-KP Bagh line: Outages in KP Bagh, Jawaharnagar and adjoining localities.

TRC Rajbagh/KP Bagh Rajbagh line: Power cuts in Kursu, Rajbagh, Gogjibagh, and surrounding areas.

South Kashmir:

Shutdowns will occur between May 24 and June 3, 2025, primarily from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM (some from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM), affecting various lines and areas:

May 24:

Awantipora-Tral-Ist line: Power disruption in Tral-e-Bala, Tral-e-Payeen, Noorpora, Dadsara, Chewa, and surrounding villages.

Kulgam-DH Pora line: Outage in Chawalgam, Gopalpora, DH Pora, Manzgam, DK Marg, and adjacent localities.

May 25:

Kanipora-Batapora line: Power supply affected in Gagren, Batapora, Sharatpora, Habdipora, Sedow, Hirpora, Devpora, including District Hospital and DPL Shopian.

May 26:

Sangam-I & II lines: Power disruption in K-Koot, Panzgam, Haripargam, Naina, and nearby areas.

Wanpoh-Sarnal line: Areas like Khanabal, Sarnal, Lazibal, Mattan Chowk to face outages.

Mattan-Gopalpora line: Power cuts in Gopalpora, Kheribal, Kawarigam, and adjoining areas.

May 27:

Lisser-Kokernag line: Shutdown in Kokernag, Dandipora, Sagam, Vailoo.

Mattan-Achabal line: Affected areas include Achabal, Shangus, Nowgam, Cherpora, Uteersoo.

May 28 & 31:

Wanpoh-Ashajipora, Wanpoh-Malaknag, Lisser-Hiller, Mattan-Pahalgam lines: Power cuts in Ashajipora, Dialgam, Moominabad, Janglat Mandi, Brakpora, Hiller, Akingam, Pahalgam, Aishmuqam, Sallar, and others.

May 29:

Awantipora-Tral-II line: Outages in Aripal, Lurgam, Satoora, Lam, and nearby areas.

Lisser-Kokernag & Mattan-Achabal lines continue with scheduled outages.

June 1 & 3:

Lisser-Dooru line: Power cuts in Dooru, Verinag, Hiller, Lower Munda, Sadiwara, and nearby areas.

Residents of the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and make alternate arrangements during the scheduled outages.
