PULWAMA: In a major step towards ensuring holistic and sustainable development of tribal communities, District Administration Pulwama is set to implement the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan—a flagship initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 2, 2024.

This nationwide campaign seeks to saturate tribal villages with essential service infrastructure and bridge gaps in human and economic development.

In alignment with the national vision, District Administration Pulwama has initiated a focused strategy for the effective rollout of the campaign. This includes conducting a baseline gap analysis under the supervision of Block Development Officers to identify critical deficits in infrastructure and human development indicators in tribal settlements, ensuring these are addressed during the campaign.

The programme will be implemented through a series of well-structured awareness and service camps designed to reach the last-mile beneficiaries in each location. As part of this initiative, awareness and benefit saturation camps will be conducted from 15th June to 30th June in various tribal villages of the district.

The Dharti Aaba Abhiyan in Pulwama will focus on intensive outreach, benefit saturation, and awareness campaigns across the tribal villages of the district.

These camps will provide on-the-spot services and entitlements under various government schemes, including social security, livelihood, education, housing, skill development and financial inclusion. The campaign will ensure on-the-ground delivery of services such as Aadhaar and voter ID enrolment, Jan Dhan Account, Ayushman Bharat card issuance, social security pensions, and registration under schemes like PMAY-G, Ujjwala Yojana, and PM-KISAN among others.

Besides, focus will also be on spreading awareness about Sickle cell disease and relating testing. Special attention will be given to addressing local development bottlenecks, ensuring universal access to basic amenities.

The campaign is a crucial step in advancing the collective vision of an inclusive and empowered tribal India.
