Jammu/Srinagar: Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Shri Rahul Gandhi, today spoke to JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra to enquire about the situation along the borders.
He urged party cadres to extend all possible help and assistance to civilians affected by Pakistan’s shelling, and to fully cooperate with the armed forces and the administration in managing the crisis.
Rahul Gandhi expressed his condolences and shared the grief and pain of the families of those martyred, while also praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) lauded the armed forces for their brave action against terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and Pakistan. The party emphasized that the entire nation stands firmly behind the armed forces in their mission to eliminate terrorism.
Expressing deep pain and shock over the loss of precious lives and injuries to several civilians due to heavy shelling by Pakistan across various areas along the Line of Control (LoC)—especially in Poonch, Rajouri, Kupwara, and Baramulla districts—JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra, along with Working Presidents Shri Tara Chand and Shri Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, and other senior leaders, strongly condemned Pakistan for deliberately targeting civilian populations and religious places in violation of international norms.
The party called on the international community to take serious note of Pakistan’s violations and acts of aggression, urging global condemnation and sanctions against Pakistan for its actions driven by frustration.
JKPCC expressed solidarity with the families of those martyred and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
PCC President Karra directed party cadres in the border areas to extend all possible assistance to the affected population, as well as to the security forces and local administration. He also urged young party workers to organize volunteer groups to provide aid in any emerging situation.
Karra further instructed the party’s youth wing to volunteer for blood donations and offer all necessary support to those in need in different areas. He spoke to several senior leaders from the affected border belts to review the ongoing situation.
Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma stated that senior party leaders are visiting the injured and coordinating relief efforts for the affected. He added that volunteer groups are being mobilized and activated to provide timely assistance.
The party leaders saluted the bravery of the armed forces and called for a strong and befitting response to Pakistan’s terrorism. “Pakistan has become a factory of terrorism, and our people can no longer tolerate it. They are fully backing the armed forces and the government at this critical time,” they added.
