22 injured in wall collapse during marriage function in Rajouri

Rajouri: At least 22 persons, including 12 women and eight children, were injured when the wall of a house collapsed during a marriage function at Rajouri district on Sunday, officials said.

The incident took place at Dhani Dhar village soon after the bride reached the house in the evening, they said.

The officials said a marriage function was going on at the house of Mohammad Idrees when one of the walls of the house collapsed suddenly, causing injuries to 22 guests.

The injured were shifted to Government Medical College Hospital in Rajouri. Later, three people who were critically injured were referred to the Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu for specialised treatment, they said.

The injured were identified as Saima Akther (wife of Mohammad Khaleel), Sartal Begum (wife of Mohammad Din), Ayan (son of Zulfkar Ali), Serish Kousar (daughter of Zulfkar Ali), Zera Hayat Khan (daughter of Mohammad Alyas), Tazeem Akther (wife of Munir Hussain), Shabeen Akther (wife of Mohammad Arif), Jameelo Akhtar (wife of Mohammad Maqsaad), Morad Zubair (son of Mehmood Hussain), Momtaz Begum (wife of Mohammad Rasheed), Mariyam Akhtar (wife of Mohammad Khaliq), Mumtaz Begum (wife of Mohammad Kalim), Mumeza Akhtar (wife of Mohammad Naseer), Anaya Kouser (daughter of Zaffar Iqbal), Mariya Kousher (wife of Imteyaz Ali), Qadeer Hussain (son of Mehandi Hussain), Araram Amin (daughter of Mohammad Imran), Mamtaz Begum (wife of Mohammad Din), Yasmeen Akthar (wife of Mohammad Shafiq), and Rehan Khan (son of Qadir Hussain).
