Pahalgam: As Kashmir mourns the Pahalgam tragedy, a pony-walla from Hapatnar Aishmuqam, who tried to save the lives of the tourists and got killed, misses mention everywhere on all big news platforms.

Adil, who was accompanying tourists with his pony, stood in-front of terrorists trying to save tourists and, as per reports, even tried to snatch the weapon from a terrorist, who killed him on the spot.

Adil’s mother has a regret … “I am not mourning for my son only but for all the guests that were killed by terrorists. But am pained as no one is talking about him (my son),” she told media.

Thankfully, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Srinagar paid heartfelt tribute to Adil who was killed in the recent Pahalgam terror attack while bravely attempting to protect tourists from the assailants.

“Adil displayed immense bravery — trying to save tourists and even attempting to snatch a weapon from the attackers. That is why he was singled out and killed,” Omar said.

Addressing the media, the Chief Minister expressed profound grief over the incident and lauded Adil’s extraordinary courage.

“Words are not enough to condemn this barbaric attack. We mourn the loss of innocent lives and stand in solidarity with the injured and the families of the deceased,” Omar said.

“People had come from across the country to enjoy their holidays in Kashmir. Tragically, some are now returning in coffins,” he added with visible emotion.

Omar Abdullah recounted Adil’s final moments, describing how the young man tried to confront the terrorists during the assault.

“Adil was simply doing his job, earning an honest livelihood. But in a moment of crisis, he displayed immense bravery — trying to save tourists and even attempting to snatch a weapon from the attackers. That is why he was singled out and killed,” he said.

The Chief Minister vowed support for Adil’s grieving family.

“We owe it to this brave soul and his loved ones to stand by them. The government will extend every possible help to ensure they are not left alone in this tragedy,” Omar assured.

Later in the afternoon, Omar Abdullah joined hundreds of mourners at Adil’s funeral in Pahalgam. The solemn gathering stood as a poignant reminder of the courage and humanity that shine even in the darkest of times.
