Tractor driver from Sheeri dies, another farmer critically injured in Heewan

Sheeri: A tragic accident in Heewan village has left a young tractor driver dead and another farmer critically injured after their tractor overturned while they were spraying fungicides and pesticides.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Jamsheed Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, a resident of Sheeri. The critically injured farmer, Ali Mohammad Ganai, a resident of Shumlaaran Kandi, was immediately rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla from PHC Sheeri for emergency treatment.

According to eyewitnesses, the tractor lost control, turned turtle, and rolled down a slope while the duo were spraying the fields.

Local villagers rushed to the spot and attempted to rescue the victims. Despite their efforts, Jamsheed succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while Ali Mohammad remains in critical condition.

Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
