Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Srinagar, Anantnag and Budgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police spokesperson informed that in one Farooq Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Akbar Dar, resident of Chek Charat Ram Kunzar, at present Bohri Kadal, was arrested at Bohri Kadal after cannabis-like substance wrapped in maize peels weighing about 116 grams was recovered from his possession.
In Anantnag, at Ainoo crossing one Sabzar Ahmad Tantray, son of Ghulam Hassan of Ainoo Brai, Ashmuqam was arrested after 318 grams of cannabis powder and 72 grams of cannabis-like substance were recovered from his possession.
In Budgam, at village Aohangam-Rathsona road near Iron Bridge, 116 grams of cannabis was recovered from the possession of Faisal Ahmad Wani, son of Mashooq Ahmad Wani, resident of Kanihama Magam. Wani was also arrested.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for investigations, police said.
