Education for all is our prime motto: Dy CM

JAMMU: Education for all is one of our prime agendas, and the government will take comprehensive measures to enhance educational standards while addressing the concerns of the teacher fraternity.

Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, stated this while addressing a one-day convention on “How To Raise Standard Of Education” organised by the Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) here today.

Joint Director School Education, Shuba Mehta, Chairman JKTJAC, Saleem Sagar, President JKTJAC, Vinod Sharma, General Secretary, Najam Jafri, besides teachers, were present during the convention.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister lauded the role of teachers in building the society. He hailed the efforts of JKTJAC in highlighting the demands and grievances of the teacher fraternity. He asserted that the standard of education can be raised through various strategies, including building educational partnerships, providing individualised learning, embracing technology and increasing global awareness.

The Dy CM stressed on exploring new strategies for teachers to adapt their instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners in the classroom. He suggested for revising the curriculum to include global issues, cultural diversity and critical thinking skills to prepare the students for a globalised world.

Choudhary also advocated professional development for teachers through workshops, training programs and collaborations. He emphasized the importance of teacher mentorship and coaching to support new and experienced educators in their professional growth.

The Dy CM said that focus should be on improving teachers’ training, reducing rote learning and creating a more inclusive learning environment. He also emphasized the need for creating opportunities for students to connect classroom learning with practical, real-world applications through internships, mentorships and project-based learning.

Earlier, the President JKTJAC highlighted the genuine issues of the teaching fraternity while seeking speedy redress for the same. These included revival of ReT scheme, transfer policy for regularised ReT teachers, exemption of teachers from all sorts of non-teaching assignments, revival of the Old Pension Scheme, clearance of GP Fund bills and Gratuity of the employees and timely DPC of staff.

The Dy CM assured the Association that the government would look into all their issues for redress in a phased manner.
