Udhampur: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in village Jopher, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramnagar in Udhampur district.
Oficials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an encounter broke out during a joint search operation launched by the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and other security forces.
“Contact was established with the hiding terrorists, leading to a fierce exchange of fire,” the officials said.
Initial reports suggest that 2 to 3 terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area.
The operation is underway, and additional reinforcements have been rushed to the spot—(KNO)
