One more victim of road accident in Bijbehara succumbs

Anantnag: The death toll in the Bijbehara road accident has risen to two as a young man who was critically injured succumbed to his injuries late last night.

The accident took place on Monday evening near Fruit Mandi Jablipora in south Kashmir’s Bijbehara Anantnag district.

An official said that Jasif Hassan, son of Ghulam Hassan Dar, a resident of Sangam, was among the three injured in the collision between a truck and a car.

He was shifted to GMC Anantnag in critical condition where he succumbed to injuries last night.

Pertinently, one Irfan Ahmad of Mirbazar had died on the spot in the accident. Two other injured persons, Nadeem Ahmad Dar of Sethar and Khursheed Ahmad of Khonmoh, are undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, four persons were injured in a road accident in Lethpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.

An official said that the accident occurred on the national highway-44 when a dumper truck collided with car near the Hatiwara junction.

Troops of 110 Battalion CRPF, who were present nearby, immediately responded to the situation and rushed the injured in their unit ambulance to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Pampore for medical treatment where the condition of the injured is currently stable.

Meanwhile, authorities have taken cognizance of the incident, and further investigation is underway.
