Srinagar: Police in Kupwara have cracked a case of theft of batteries stolen from tippers and trucks parked at Regipora, a police spokesperson informed Monday.
It said investigating a case of theft of batteries, one suspect, identified as Bilal Ahmad Khan, resident of Kupwara town, was detained and subjected to sustained questioning. Upon his confession, 23 stolen batteries were recovered from a concealed location in the presence of the concerned Executive Magistrate.
The investigation is going on, and more arrests and recoveries are anticipated as the case progresses, police said.
