Chairperson DDC Baramulla visits fire-affected families

BARAMULLA: Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Baramulla, Safina Baig, visited Mohalla Jalal Sahib Baramulla today to meet the families affected by the recent fire incident.

During the visit, she interacted with the affected families, assessed the damage, and assured them of full support from the administration.

The chairperson highlighted the challenging living conditions in the area, noting that 3 to 4 families are residing in a single house due to overcrowding. She emphasized the urgent need for decongestion to improve living standards and reduce the risk of such incidents in the future.

Safina Baig assured the families that, as the Chairperson of DDC Baramulla, she will take every possible step to rehabilitate them. She also stated that she will take up the matter with the district and UT administration to ensure the immediate allotment of 5 marlas of land to each affected family, along with financial and other support to help them recover.

Safina Baig appealed to Lieutenant Governor UT J&K, Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister J&K, Omar Abdullah, to extend their support to the affected families and help provide necessary assistance for their rehabilitation.

Chairperson DDC directed the concerned authorities to expedite relief measures and ensure that the affected families receive timely assistance. She reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to supporting the families and providing the necessary resources for their recovery.
