Srinagar/Jammu: Paying rich tributes to the policemen who were martyred while bravely fighting militants in the Kathua area since last night, JKPCC Chief Shri Tariq Hameed Karra has termed the terror situation in parts of Jammu as grim and demanded a more effective strategy to deal with the deteriorating situation in the region.

Strongly condemning the terror incident in Kathua district, the JKPCC Chief expressed deep shock over the loss of precious lives among security forces in the gun battle, while also lauding the bravery of the personnel who eliminated three terrorists in the encounter.

Expressing grave concern over the worsening situation in various parts of Jammu, Karra said that the balloon of false and misleading claims of normalcy by the Central Government has burst due to a series of terror incidents in the region. However, the Centre remains in denial mode to divert the nation’s attention. He alleged that the government ignored warning signals and the voices of people on the ground, leading to the further deterioration of the situation.

Joined by several senior leaders from the district, including Ch. Lal Singh, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, DCC President Pankaj Dogra, Ex-MLA Durga Dass, Naresh Sharma, Kajal Rajput, Rakesh Chaudhary, Nirdosh Sharma, and others, Karra demanded a more effective strategy to control the situation by actively involving the people and elected representatives. The JKPCC Chief urged the Centre to accept the ground reality and the challenge in order to restore normalcy.

They stated that the situation is at its worst in the district, with fear gripping the common people due to a series of incidents, including mysterious disappearances and killings. They further alleged that the police remain clueless, making the situation even more serious.

The leaders conveyed their deep sympathies to the families of those martyred and injured and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
