Srinagar: Police in Srinagar have arrested a lady drug peddler and recovered a substantial quantity of contraband substance from her possession, a police spokesperson informed Wednesday.
He said a police party from Police Station Shaltang at a checkpoint established at Panzinara, noticed a woman attempting to flee the scene. She was subsequently apprehended and her personal search yielded 1.9 kgs of cannabis-like substance.
The arrested “lady peddler” was identified as Jabeena Bano, wife of Bashir Ahmed Malik of Panzinara, Srinagar, police said, adding a case under relevant sections of law has been registered for investigation.
