Srinagar: The National Conference Provincial President Kashmir, Showkat Mir, said that under the leadership of Omar Abdullah, the J&K government is committed to freeing the people from bureaucratic red tape and holding officials accountable.

Mir made these remarks while meeting with the workers’ delegations from Qazigund at the party headquarters. He highlighted the significant changes that have taken place since the democratically-elected government led by Omar Abdullah came into power.

Mir emphasized that the government now views the people as citizens, not subjects, and is dedicated to addressing their concerns. The days of the power corridors being inaccessible to the common people are over, as individuals from all walks of life are now able to voice their issues at the secretariat.

The NC leader said that the people of J&K are relieved to have their own elected representatives in the legislature and government.

He assured that the government is fully aware of its responsibilities to the constituents and is actively working towards restoring statehood. Mir mentioned that several initiatives have already been put into action, with more in the works to alleviate the suffering caused by previous non-NC governments.
