Rajnath Singh, while patiently listening to all the issues put forth by Sunil Sharma, assured him of all possible measures in a timely manner. He stressed that the Modi government is a public welfare government that will ensure the well-being of the residents along with all the security concerns.

Sunil Sharma, earlier, put forth various development, and security-related issues of Jammu & Kashmir and Kishtwar in particular before the Union Defense Minister.

While lauding the infrastructure development, peace initiatives and security-related measures of the Modi government to establish prevailing peace and progress in Jammu & Kashmir, Sunil Kumar Sharma requested an additional boost to the economic development, employment, security and border area development in Jammu & Kashmir. In view of the paramount strategic importance of the region, he requested more stringent security measures to intercept and restrain any mischief from across the borders.

Regarding the Kishtwar region, he raised the issue of completion of the road from Tourist Reception Centre to Sarkoot Mandir, which is presented halted due to clearance by the Army. He also pointed out that the land near Kishtwar Helipad that belongs to villagers from Matta, Zellna, and nearby areas is currently used by the Army on a rental basis. He said that the Army either formally acquired the land or returned it to its rightful owners for their use.

Sharma raised the issue of the construction and operationalization of Kishtwar Airstrip for civilian use under the Udaan scheme. He stressed that the construction of the airstrip for public use in addition to the existing Army Helipad would boost connectivity, tourism, and economic growth in the region. He also demanded the establishment of a permanent Army cantonment in the district.
