Pak terrorist killed in Handwara encounter: SSP

Handwara, Mar 17: Police on Monday said that a Pakistani terrorist was killed in an encounter with the security forces here in north Kashmir.

Talking to reporters after the gunfight ended, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Mushtaq Chaudhary, as per the news agency KNO, said, “On a tip off security forces cordoned Krumbhoora Rajwar area in Handwara this morning. As soon as the contact was established, the security forces engaged the terrorist, resulting in his killing.”

“The body of the terrorist was retrieved, and based on evidence, he was identified as a Pakistani terrorist Saifullah,” the SSP added

“Saifullah was active in the area for a long time. The security forces recovered an AK rifle, four magazines, grenades, and other materials from the encounter site. The area is currently being sanitized to rule out any further threats,” SSP Choudhry added.

Meanwhile, the SSP dismissed reports of a policeman being injured during the encounter, terming the reports as baseless.
