Srinagar: A terrorist was killed in an ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday, officials said.
A top police official told news agency JKNS that one terrorist has been killed so far in an ongoing encounter in Krumbhoora, Zachaldara Rajwar.
Earlier, based on specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in Krumbhoora, Zachaldara Rajwar Handwara of district Kupwara, a joint search operation was launched by security forces.
He said that during the operation, the hiding terrorists opened fire on the security forces, leading to retaliatory action and triggering an encounter.
The operation is still underway, and further details are awaited.
