SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in various areas to facilitate ongoing infrastructure development and maintenance work.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the power shutdown is necessary for the laying of conductors on erected poles at Medicity Sempora. Consequently, the 33KV Pampore-Badamibagh line will remain affected, resulting in the shutdown of 33/11KV receiving stations at Sonwar, Badamibagh, Panthachowk, Lasjan, and WSS Tangnar. This will impact the power supply to Sonwar, Indra Nagar, Batwara, Shivpora, Badamibagh, Lasjan, WSS Tangnar, Flour Mill, Govt. Press, and adjoining areas from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on March 12 and March 15, 2025.

Similarly, for the erection of an 11-meter ST pole, the 33KV Bandipora line will undergo a shutdown, affecting the 33/11KV receiving stations at Watlab, Tujjar, and Dooru. As a result, the power supply to Watlab, Tujjar, Dooru, and surrounding areas will be interrupted from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on March 12 and March 15, 2025.

Additionally, for the stabilization of lines through the erection of ST poles, the 33KV Dolipora line will remain shut, leading to a temporary halt in operations at the 33/11KV receiving stations in Tarathpora, Dolipora, and Magam. Areas including Tarathpora, Kalmoona, Vilgam, Neelipora, Geeripora, Dolipora, and adjacent locations will experience power outages from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on March 10, March 12, and March 15, 2025.

Moreover, to facilitate the tapping of the 33KV Watergam line by BEACON authorities, the 33KV Amargarh-Watergam line will be affected. This will lead to the shutdown of 33/11KV receiving stations at Hadipora, Watergam, Hachipora, Ganapora, and Safalpora. Residents in these areas will face power disruptions from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on March 15 and March 17, 2025.

Furthermore, for the replacement of damaged isolators, the Magam Grid Station will be shut down, affecting the 33/11KV receiving station at Kunzer. Consequently, power supply to Lalpora A, Kunzer, Kralweth, Mangloora, and Ogmuna will remain suspended from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on March 15, 2025.

Consumers in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and make alternative arrangements to mitigate inconvenience during the scheduled power outages.
