During his visit, Saurabh Bhagat emphasised the importance of a robust IT framework in facilitating legislative proceedings. He directed that the Assembly hall, along with all essential rooms within the complex, including areas designated for media personnel and the general public, be equipped with necessary Access Points (APs) to provide uninterrupted internet connectivity. Ensuring seamless digital communication and real-time access to information is a priority of the department for the smooth functioning of the assembly.

The Commissioner Secretary instructed CEO JaKeGA, Rupesh Kumar and Jaskaran Singh Modi, SIO NIC, to oversee and implement measures to guarantee uninterrupted connectivity throughout the Budget session.

The CEO JaKeGA, mentioned that an additional redundant internet link of 5 Gbps has been provisioned in the Assembly Hall besides the primary 1 Gbps NIC link. He also directed that four JaKeGA resource persons along with service vendors be deployed in shifts to ensure continuous monitoring of internet connectivity, preventing service disruptions and maintaining optimal network performance. Besides this, capacity-building sessions will be arranged for the MLAs as per schedule to enhance their digital proficiency.

This proactive initiative by the IT Department underscores the government’s commitment towards leveraging technology for efficient legislative operations. The department remains dedicated to implementing best practices in digital connectivity, reinforcing Jammu and Kashmir’s progress towards a more advanced, technology-driven governance model.
