Stock, supply & distribution scenario of fertilizers reviewed for Kmr Div

SRINAGAR: To review the overall scenario (stock, supply and distribution) of fertilizers in the Kashmir division, a meeting of concerned stakeholders was today organised at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi, here.

The meeting convened by Joint Director Agriculture Extension Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah witnessed the participation of heads/representatives of fertilizer companies carrying out their business in the Kashmir division and concerned officers of the enforcement wing of the Department of Agriculture.

Addressing the meeting, JD Agriculture said that the Department is committed to safeguarding the interests of the farming community of the region. He exhorted the stakeholders including representatives of fertilizer companies to put in all the efforts and ensure that only the quality inputs including fertilizers reach the farming community.

He highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in the system to ensure smooth distribution of quality fertilizers to the growers and farmers.

He said that the primary objective of the law enforcement wing of the department is to ensure the availability of quality inputs to the farming community of the region through proper sale outlets at appropriate times. He impressed upon the concerned officers to make sincere efforts for online service delivery to the farmers.

Shah said that while functioning in the field, the concerned officers must ensure that all the provisions of the Insecticide Act, and fertilizer control order are implemented in letter and spirit.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Director of Law Enforcement, Plant Protection Officer Kashmir, District Law Enforcement Officer North, District Law Enforcement Officer South and other senior officers of the Enforcement Wing of the Agriculture Department.
